About Bloom
Our Goal
Every child’s learning journey is unique.
At Bloom NZ Literacy, we give them the tools to succeed with fun, structured phonics lessons grounded in the Science of Reading. Our online sessions combine evidence-based teaching with resources designed for Kiwi kids, building strong foundations in reading, writing, spelling and handwriting.
With one-to one personalised teaching, Bloom nurtures confidence and a love of learning – supporting all learners, including children with dyslexia – wherever your child is in Aotearoa.

Bloom NZ Literacy
A Bloom Lesson
Revise
We start by revisiting sounds and words your child has already learned, to reinforce and link to prior learning while building confidence.
Teach
A new sound or spelling rule is introduced — what it looks like, how it sounds, and how to write it.
Practise
Through fun, engaging activities, your child practises reading, spelling, and writing. We also explore a short book that links to the new sound.
Apply
After each lesson, your child receives simple homework tasks to reinforce what they’ve learned and keep progress moving.
Assess
We regularly check your child’s understanding, with a full review at the end of each 5-week block to celebrate progress and plan next steps.
